Daniel, I have solved the problem!!!! (at least I think I have)
I created a sample project which consists only of an icon to access the
"fanfare" WAV file. I uploaded the project, the sound, and an HTML file. At
first I got the same message you got about the data failing to load properly.
I observed that the WAV file was named entirely in capital letters:
FANFARE.WAV ... and I recalled that online projects are very fussy about
upper and lowercase letters. I thought that perhaps the project was
attempting to locate "fanfare.wav" in lowercase letters and was rejecting
"FANFARE.WAV" in uppercase letters. So I renamed the online file to be
"fanfare.wav" in lowercase letters, and then when I refreshed the page and
tried again, it worked! -- at least for me.
I would be very curious if a few of you would attempt to access this
sound-testing project and report back to us. It would be helpful to have at
least one PC tester and one Mac tester. Please specify your platform when
you report back. Of course, as always, you need to have the MicroWorlds
plug-in (Web Player) to access the project.
The URL is:
http://www.mathcats.com/microworlds/testingsound.html
If you can all access the sound, then it means that people posting online
MicroWorlds projects need to be very careful that all of their sound files
are in named with lowercase letters.

To save an attachment to your computer, PC users should right-click (Mac users, click and hold the mouse button) on the link and then choose 'save target as' from the pop-up menu. A window will then pop up in which you can choose a location for the file.
