I suppose many of you have noticed my latest posting in the
LogoForum : "Towards Teaching TC & CPS" Maybe it's just tax time,
but there has been nary a response. I'm thinking that perhaps I may
be threading new ground with what I'm trying to do. I sure hope
not. I sure hope that someone who has had similar experiences would
have tried several approaches.
If you have, would you please tell me what works and what doesn't? I
started out with a standard Logo approach, albeit I started with a
triangle instead of a square. I got the class through REPEAT. So
these 3rd graders can do their own spirographs. I now want to teach
PROCEDURES and VARIABLES. I wanted to do that last week, but the
class ... had a mind of it's own.
Anyway, I would like to capitalize on these kids' fascination and
show them how to program more complex structures. I'm thinking up
and testing several programs that I'll pre-load on the iMacs to show
more advanced features. I would like to be able to direct my efforts
towards those type of approaches that you know has a greater chance
of re-directing these kids from their present fixations.
Please consider e-mailing me directly, specially if you have greater
than a 1 MB file attachment. I have a cable modem and it can
download at 300KbPS.
Thanks a lot!

To save an attachment to your computer, PC users should right-click (Mac users, click and hold the mouse button) on the link and then choose 'save target as' from the pop-up menu. A window will then pop up in which you can choose a location for the file.
