Hi again... I am really gearing up to start posting a lot of interactive
MicroWorlds lessons. Rather than posting them on my existing site, I thought
it would make sense if we established a unique identity for this cybercourse.
I'd like to register a domain name and sign up with a web-hosting company as
soon as possible. I don't care that much what the domain name is and I'm not
feeling very inspired today. But I checked some possibilities today and
these names, for example, are available:
cybermw.com
ilovemicroworlds.com
microworldsonline.com
learnmicroworlds.com
learnmw.com
mwcybercourse.com
microworldshelp.com
mwhelp.com
funwithmicroworlds.com
A couple of related names are already registered by other parties:
microworlds.com
mw.com
mwonline.com
I'm sure some of you can think of some additional possibilities. I'd like to
get a few more ideas from you and then have you vote for your preferred name
by an online poll. By the way, even though the name of this group is
"mwcybercourse," I don't personally think that that would be the best domain
name. I'd prefer something catchier, myself. But there is also a danger of
getting too "cutesy" with some of these possibilities. And when I see
"mwhelp" in writing it looks to me more like "m-whelp" rather than
"mw-help"... although I guess we could also hyphenate it as I just did. But
then one would always have to spell it out to people: "Visit the site, 'mw
hyphen help dot com'" -- so it is probably best to avoid a name requiring
punctuation, too, or a name requiring capital letters.
I would suggest that you submit your additional suggestions to me by private
e-mail and not to this whole group so that we don't bog down the group
dialogue with this, and then I'll post all of the suggestions into a poll in
a couple of days. Submit to:
wendypetti@xxxx
Thanks,
Wendy

Re: a name for the online course
To save an attachment to your computer, PC users should right-click (Mac users, click and hold the mouse button) on the link and then choose 'save target as' from the pop-up menu. A window will then pop up in which you can choose a location for the file.
