Subject: MWcybercourse is moving and changing its name!

Hello,

Based on the poll results, I have launched the process of moving
MWcybercourse to a new ad-free hosting service available through my
Math Cats site. I decided to change the name at the same time since
we are not really a "cybercourse." Since our purpose resembles that
of the LogoForum but with a specific focus on MicroWorlds, from here
on we will be known as the MWForum. You can say that as
"MicroWorlds Forum" or "MW Forum." (I hope that's OK with you! If
you rise up in mutiny I can delete the new group and start over
again with a different agreed-on name, but I'd need to know right
away.) I am going to attempt to send a greeting from the new
service shortly after I send this message. I believe that that
message is going to contain a footer with information about how to
send messages and view the archives... but I can't be entirely sure
if it is all working properly since we do not yet have any archived
messages on the new list. The greeting should come from

mwforum@xxxx

and should include [MWForum] in the subject line.

I have attempted to maintain your current membership option
(individual e-mails or daily digest). But please contact me
off-list if you would like to change your option. Do bear in mind
that you cannot receive MicroWorlds attachments with the daily
digest version, and our mail volume is quite light, so if you are
currently receiving the digest you might consider switching to
individual e-mails. I won't know until we try it how well it will
work to view attachments from the archives.

If all goes well, then pretty soon I will disband the MWcybercourse
list at Yahoo Groups, and you might get a farewell message from
MWcybercourse at that time... but remember that our group is not
going away, it is just moving!

After I disband MWcybercourse from Yahoo Groups, those archives will
no longer be available, but I think I have saved just about all of
the messages on my own computer, so let me know if you ever have
need for a past message or project shared with MWcybercourse.

Thanks, and I'll see you all at MWForum!

  • To save an attachment to your computer, PC users should right-click (Mac users, click and hold the mouse button) on the link and then choose 'save target as' from the pop-up menu. A window will then pop up in which you can choose a location for the file.
