This list has been pretty quiet lately. So just by way of discussion I
will tell you about a fun little project I am starting. I have two
grandchildren (well actually I have 9, but only two old enough for this
project) who are 5 and 8. I sent them Microworlds last week and they now have
it installed. Today I sent them an e-mail telling them about their new pet
turtle and how it knows tricks if you know turtle talk. I told them how to
use fd and home. They are supposed to e-mail me back with a response and I
will send them another command or two. =20
I don't know how far this will go, or how I will handle getting them to
use what they know creatively etc. down the road. But it should be a fun
experiment. If I come across interesting experiences I will share them.
Perhaps thee are other folks out there who would like to try something like
this with children they are connected to.

  • To save an attachment to your computer, PC users should right-click (Mac users, click and hold the mouse button) on the link and then choose 'save target as' from the pop-up menu. A window will then pop up in which you can choose a location for the file.
