I set up my first online class for professional development this summer with
moodle. I can't call myself an expert, but I have created and implemented a
course with it.
Do you have specific questions about moodle? Do you have access to a moodle
server? You can get lots of help at the moodle web site:
www.moodle.org
There are many online forums for newbies to ask questions. I have found moodle
relatively easy to use, although there are quirks, as with any software. I
find it easier to use than BlackBoard, which is expensive. Moodle is very
flexible and has a lot of features. It's a good program for developing online
classes.

I copied this from the moodle.org website.
Moodle is a course management system (CMS) - a free, Open Source
software package designed using sound pedagogical principles, to help
educators create effective online learning communities. You can download
and use it on any computer you have handy (including webhosts), yet it
can scale from a single-teacher site to a 50,000-student University.
I am interested in it for the calendar feature and I hear you can give
on-line assessments.

I am beginning to create a moodle page for my computer programming
class. Has anyone used moodle to teach MicroWorlds. I could use some
tips on setting up the course.

To save an attachment to your computer, PC users should right-click (Mac users, click and hold the mouse button) on the link and then choose 'save target as' from the pop-up menu. A window will then pop up in which you can choose a location for the file.
