Longer answer... this may help, or not...

Create a turtle that will forever follow the mouse pointer. Name the turtle
"tracker". Put the relevant shapes in that turtle's backpack. Issue the
following command in your setup procedure
ask "tracker [forever [setpos mousepos]]

This will work better in Presentation Mode because otherwise, the mouse
pointer can get "off screen" and the "setpos mousepos" will run wild.

Then, you can program the tracker to change shape when it touches another
turtle or when it passes over a certain color.
