I'm hoping that a web server admin or someone with knowledge in that area can
help me with this... our web server is IIS 6. I have uploaded a MicroWorlds
file to the server and want students to be able to download and view it using
a browser plugin specific to the file type (.wmx). For some reason, it is not
working.
I thought the answer might be that the server is not set up to serve this type
of file, so I went into IIS Manager and added the MIME file type (.wmx
application/x-mwx-plugin) in the HTTP headers tab. Despite this, I still get
an error when I try to open the file in a browser, "The data that the
MicroWorlds Web Player requested, did not download successfully."
I know that the file is fine because someone else put it on their web server
and it can be accessed and run from my browser (which has the plugin
installed). But for some reason it won't work when served from our district's
server.
Could I be overlooking something? I would be happy to send a screen shot of
the setup if someone has experience with this and can advise me.
Thanks very much!!!

To save an attachment to your computer, PC users should right-click (Mac users, click and hold the mouse button) on the link and then choose 'save target as' from the pop-up menu. A window will then pop up in which you can choose a location for the file.
