Hi, My name is Theresa Overall. I found this group because my name was on a web page about the history of logo and that web page had a link to this forum. The web page was that of a computer engineering student in Ecuador, so I was intrigued to have my name on his website. I'm not sure what all was said about me because my Spanish isn't very good, but I am a part of Logo history. I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time and worked with Seymour Papert from 1978-1983 at The Lamplighter School in Dallas. Lamplighter was the test site for the first commercial version of Logo, TI-Logo that ran on TI 994A home computers. Those were some amazing days. I taught at Lamplighter for 21 years and then went to work for the Integration of Technology into Teaching and Learning (IITTL) at The University of North Texas (UNT) where I was working on a master's in Computer Education and Cognitive Systems. I have since finished my master's and went on to earn a Ph.D. which I just finished in December 2006. I am now visiting assistant professor at University of Maine at Farmington. While at UNT, I taught 18 sections of the course "Computers in the Classroom". My students were all undergraduates, most of whom were working to become elementary and middle school teachers. MicroWorlds was a part of that curriculum. For now, I just want to watch and see what this group is all about. I look forward to reading the postings that come across the listserv.
