Alain,
The volume slider is set at the default of 49. Oddly enough it is
working now. I did remove any references to LCSI and Microworlds
from the registry after uninstalling. Restarted and reinstalled MW
1.4 without any success. Here is the only thing I did differently.
Rather than starting MW from scratch, going into free mode, and
entering the melody editor; I started by double-clicking an existing
project icon. It shouldn't make a difference, but MIDI and melody
editor work just fine now. (I think these functions both share the
same system sound resources) This has been a problem on this PC for a
long time. I'll let the forum know if I discover something more
substantial. Go figure?
Thank you,
Rich Park

I'm a bit puzzled, but a wild guess: did you check the VOLUME
slider in the Melody editor? It has its own volume, independant of
the "system's" volume.

I'm cannot get the Melody Editor and MIDI file imports to work on
a particular PC. I can import MP3 and .WAV file successfully, but
there is no sound using Melody Editor. I'm using Windows XP Pro
SP2 and MW-EX v1.4. I tried installing from the same installation
CD onto another another PC with XP Pro SP2 and all sound functions
including Melody Editor work OK. I uninstalled/reinstalled MW EX
v1.4 from the failing PC and the problem was not corrected. Can
anyone suggest any further troubleshooting tips or corrective action.
Thank you,

To save an attachment to your computer, PC users should right-click (Mac users, click and hold the mouse button) on the link and then choose 'save target as' from the pop-up menu. A window will then pop up in which you can choose a location for the file.
