That seems very fine... Although I'd make the definition broad or
vague enough to include "words". Picking a word in a list of words is
very similar to picking a character in a word (show first [bonjour
chez vous] - show first "bonjour - show first "|bonjour chez vous|).
A text box reports a "long word", unless you parse it (show count
text1 - show count parse text1). In a way, the expression "list
processing" is limitative and it doesn't have to.

I was wondering what do you all think about the following paragraph:
List processing means doing something with items in a list. For
example, if
you have 10 lines of text in a text box and you use the textpick
command to
select one of them at random - that would be one form of list
processing.
Or if you pick one word at random from a list of words inside
brackets...
Or even if you pick one letter at random from a string of letters.

To save an attachment to your computer, PC users should right-click (Mac users, click and hold the mouse button) on the link and then choose 'save target as' from the pop-up menu. A window will then pop up in which you can choose a location for the file.
