Both IE6 and IE7 say this: "The data that the MicroWorlds Web Player
requested, did not download successfully" (including the oddly placed comma).
Then they proceed to give you that outlined window with the tooltip telling
you to "click to activate and use this control." Firefox stays blank and
doesn't seem to be trying to download the file as there's no activity on my
router after about 5 seconds.
So aside from having students run the project locally, say on a network and
having it open in presentation mode, which is certainly an option, I was
thinking I might still try to deliver it over the web by breaking the project
up into separate projects that open each other with the getproject command at
the appropriate times, similar to how you would break up a Flash project so it
doesn't get too big. But if I have stored variables that are set by the user
in one project is there a way to pass them on to the next project when it
opens?

Hi Erik
File size is a matter of personal choice. I find 3.5 MB to be quite large,
given that: in addition to downloading this large file, your browser has to
load a "quite large" plugin. And also, the user won't have a "progress bar"
to see that the downloading of the file, or the loading of the plugin, is
going well. He/she may think that the browser has crashed, even though it's
not the case.
No, there is no limit to the file size.
I don't understand the message that you are getting from IE7. Can you give
me the exact wording?
Ciao,
A

How big of a file should I reasonably expect to be able to share over
the web with an HTML template? I have a project that's about 3.5 MB
because of imported graphics and many pages (about 15) and when I open
it on the web it does nothing in Firefox and IE7 says the plugin won't
download it. Is there a limit to how much the plugin can handle?
Thanks, Erik Nauman

To save an attachment to your computer, PC users should right-click (Mac users, click and hold the mouse button) on the link and then choose 'save target as' from the pop-up menu. A window will then pop up in which you can choose a location for the file.
