Confirmed.

You can use
say "hello
say [hello there]
say "|hello there|
say text1
(given that text1 is the name of a text box that contains some text - it can
be visible or not, or even on a different page IF it has a unique name -
that's LOT more economical that recording your voice)

and also
show voices
to get the list of voices available on your computer
and then

sayas "hello "|Microsoft Sam|
sayas "hello "Agnes
(at least on MY computer)
Or, if you don't want to deal with the vertical bars (for dealing with
spaces)
sayas "hello item 1 voices
but that's slower because MW has to ask the system for the list of voices.

Does not work well under Win2000
Gives different results when you carry projects from Mac to Win to Mac to
Win...

There you go. You know everything now.

I recenty discovered that the "say" command is a
speech synthesizer but the command is not documented
in the Help. Can anyone confirm this? Try:

say [I love Micro worlds]

in the Command Center

  • To save an attachment to your computer, PC users should right-click (Mac users, click and hold the mouse button) on the link and then choose 'save target as' from the pop-up menu. A window will then pop up in which you can choose a location for the file.
