Im afraid you can't.
For background colors, you could do something like:
if bg = 15 [dothis]
Otherwise, you will have to use color detection on your  background.

There would be a trick, but it's expensive.
Use a turtle
Give it the shape of the background you want
Freeze the turtle
Use
if (ask "t1 [shape]) = 1 [dothis]
where t1 is the turtle's name and 1 is the shape number where you have put the background, in the turtle's backpack.

I said that this is "expensive" because such a big turtle may make your project fat and or slow. But you can give it a try.

How do I make somthing happen when the background is a certian background?
