It depends.

With FMSLogo (and the LogoFE library) I can do things like:

The LogoFE library for FMSLogo has many things even:

* Gauss–Jordan elimination http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gauss%E2%80%93Jordan_elimination
* Inferential statistic functions
* Root finding
* arithmetic with complex numbers
...

FMSLogo and LogoFE are my main tools for solving Project Euler problems ( http://projecteuler.net/ )

"touching?" is a command in MicroWorlds Logo.

If by "shapes" you mean: pictures with which you dress the turtle using

setsh

command. Then yes.

You can detect collisions with:

if touching "t1 "t2 [...]

for example:

if touching "t1 "t2 [show ask "t1 [pos]]

which shows the position of t1 at the time of collision with t2.
